Something about a teenager being normal at the beginning of a chapter always keeps me wanting to turn the pages. And right away, Samantha does what any seventeen year old would do when encountered with the unknown—plunge headfirst right into it!Scared, but brave, she heads right into a mystery of terror and loss. The only thing keeping her sane is the fact that she is lucky enough to find her best friend, her cousin, and her cousin’s girlfriend along the way.
Although the tale touches on a small bit of romance, it is mostly about friendships and the sacrifices you will or will not, take to keep them.
The only thing that kept me confused from time to time was that I would get Clyde and Craig mixed up. Because I never understood why they both hated each other so much in the very beginning, I had a hard time connecting with them as characters. Also, there was something nagging at me about the timing with Sammi. She had dreams of premonition, yes, but something seemed out of order in the first third of the story.
Other than a few repeats of the same information, this first book in the series was intricate, but intriguing. Because of the vampire/werewolf relationships, I would highly recommend it to all ages over twelve.

Blood Moon Blood Moon Trilogy Book 1 edition by Kayla Krantz Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
What did I just read...? Because I want to read it again! Absolutely loved reading this novel and can't wait to start the sequal!
The story was very well written, the plot exceptional, and the characters well developed!
This isn't my first novel by Kayla Kratz. I read this one because the first one I read was just as enjoyable! She is a wonderful writer and one to put on your 'authors to read' list!
It took me a little bit to get into this book but once I did, I was fully along for the ride.
Ms Krantz builds the world where her characters are in rich detail, which is good, but sometimes slows down the story. It did have twists and turns, some easy to spot, others I didn’t see coming.
I’m definitely going to read the second book in the trilogy and will see you there in my next review.
Vampires, Teenagers, and Werewolves, Oh My!
This is a great quick read in the horror vein. I'll admit, its been a hot minute since I've read anything in the genre, so, I'm glad Blood Moon was easy enough for me on the scare factor.
There are many moments that I wanted to reach in, just like in a horror film, and say, "No!"
The author did a really good job in setting a good pace, and toward the end when it is coming together, you are certainly left with wanting more. Which is good, since this is only book one in a trilogy.
Terrible editing!!! This story has so much about it that is great, but the lack of good editing ruins a lot of it.
Theother complaint i have is the massive plot holes in parts of it, such as how did clyde find out where the boat was? How did he get to the island, cover himself in mud while on the island, but there be no scent from before he covered himself?
The plot is great and i hope the next book is just as good, but man does this need edited!
I’m giving this book 4 stars for these reasons
(1) It took me quite a while to get into the story. For me, the build-up was tedious and I kept hoping that the author would just get there soon.
(2) There were great moments when I was engrossed in the story and anticipated what would come next, and there were moments I didn’t like much and skipped to the next page.
(3) I got to like the antagonist for some reason. I found I was more engrossed in Clyde’s POV than Sam’s. In the end, he did somewhat redeem himself.
Overall, it was a good story with a solid plot.
The story line was GREAT! I connected with the main character Sam early in the book. She comes off as a realistic 18-year-old and is likable. Like many teens, although she wonders if her friends are playing a joke on her, she also has that thirst for adventure and accepts the mysterious invitation she receives. There is a lesson here that if it seems too good to be true it probably is, as Sam soon finds out on her vacation-turned-nightmare. Lance and Clyde are also interesting characters and I loved the paranormal element. There is even a little romance later as things progress, but it’s not overly done. Fantastic story with something for everyone.
Blood Moon is a cringe-worthy horror story you won’t be able to put down. What starts out as an opportunity-of-a-lifetime for teen Sam, turns into chaos at sea. Against her mother’s wishes, she secretly boards a cruise ship after a peculiar invitation beckons her on what seems like an intriguing adventure. Sam, her friend Clyde, cousin Craig, and Craig’s girlfriend Rachel, all discover they’ve been simultaneously invited, throwing caution to the wind, and all set sail on a gory journey. Sam and her squad eventually end up on an island wrought with mostly evil creatures of the classic, paranormal variety. Among them, a mysterious and intriguing werewolf named Lance befriends Sam as she deals with surviving the only way she can with the help of a magical medallion while the others endure their own perils. From werewolves to vampires, you’ll be rooting for Sam all the way in this fantastic page-turner. I highly recommend this paranormal thriller.
