Great book
I enjoy these novels .....a bit of history with a main character that sounds like me.lol
I love the way the suthor narrates the stories not only through one person but the different characters as well. In this way we see things differently on how they react to the situations whether right or wrong.
Another great read and am really sorry to see the end of this series.
A fitting end to the series. I felt the ending was a little abrupt. That however, is most likely because I was sad to see the series end. All in all a good book and a justly deserved ending.
Great read and I’m guessing this is the last in the Valerius Verrens series. Good to see the “Hammer” take his revenge but would have liked to know a bit more about what transpired in the 13 years from the end of the last battle to the final confrontation with Domitian. Left me wondering and could have been fixed in a few paragraphs. I’ve written my own version in my head but still .........
Another good to great book. But Finding out at the end it is the last one and having the ending mention shadowy events that happened in the 15 years since the book's final battle with no elaboration was rude. Or else it is a tease for 1 final book, explaining what went on in Antioch, how Verrens got from under the horse to Antioch, along with his family, how they survived, Did the daughter at 19 and the son at 27 find mates? The fire injuries, what were they? Who organized Domitians demise? Too abrupt an ending for such a long series.
